I got a new monitor and it is 27 inches. It has a great display. I like it. But I like to have two full views side by side. So I looked around and I found a program that I think will work for me. I can use it for 30 days and then if I want to keep using it will cost me $30.00 so I installed it. The program is Splitview.
The Donald Trump people are now trying to question the health of Hillary Clinton. They are making up stuff and even little clips of videos. Hilary Clinton is 68 years of age. Donald Trump is 70 years of age.
The health issue is not going to get Donald Trump one vote. It could cost him a few votes. If Donald Trump is elected president he would be he oldest person to become president. Some people might remember how bad things got for Ronald Reagan and just decide they do not want to vote for someone that age.
The left size is males and the right side is females.
Age Years Left
So for me, at age 75, my probability of death is 0.03%. I should expect about 11 more years to live.
Oh my God… That means that who ever is elected this time … I should expect to be around for the next 8 years and a few years into the term of the next President of the United States.
What a way to end my life. I was born, in 1941, and FDR was President after him President Harry Truman. I was alive when John F. Kennedy was President of the United States. In fact JFK was the first President that I voted for and now I end my life with these people!!!
One last look at Hilary’s boat. I took this photo just minutes before the boat and Hilary left for south Texas.
Hilary had been working on the boat for days. She found the boat was not such a great deal. It had leaks and had water in it.
Hilary found a guy to haul the boat to south Texas. I hope they make it. Hilary says he drives 80 mph pulling the boat. He loves his high powered truck. Of course Hilary is paying extra for the gas he burns driving so fast.
I hope he does not have an accident.
They tow it to her land and turn around and come back. I am not sure when Hilary will get back to go to work on the boat again.
Hilary has spent a lot of money on this boat and it can not go into the water at this time and I suspect never.
Hilary loves boats. She loves her boat in Sweden.
You should have seen how happy she was when she got this boat. She is not so happy right now.
I love to get new hardware. I am looking all the time for a reason to buy something to play with. I been thinking about getting a new Chromebook. I had one before and hated it. But the new one would have more power and a touch screen and would work as a tablet.
But I just do not think I can stand the fact that the keyboard does not have a Delete key.
The other thing I have been thinking about is a tablet that you can boot into Windows 10 or Android.
But I been thinking … I do not need a Chromebook, laptop or tablet.
I do not work .. I do not get out much … When I am not sleeping I spend 90% of the time at my desk looking at my monitor.
I am thinking I should get the ASUS MX279H 27 inch Full HD monitor.
Not sure how many of you made it here from ShowMeBlog but my hosting company make a couple of little errors and then I, of course, made some big errors on top of those. I can not get access to Howard’s Notebook to update it or change it and I cannot get into the settings to correct my errors.
I am trying to decide how to correct the problems. I am thinking of just saying to hell with it. I spend an hour or two a day on Howard’s Notebook and the number of people reading the blog is going down …
I hate Facebook but I am thinking of just using a Facebook Page:
I am thinking of just giving up on the blog and just doing YouTube.
Until I decide what I am going to do I will keep you updated here.
STEPHEN/ANCHOR: Now here’s some news that Space Geeks around the world won’t be able to resist! There’s a big meeting this fall about the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station program and it’s being held, not in space but on Planet Earth – in Houston Texas. Here’s Amateur Radio Newsline’s Graham Kemp, VK4BB.
GRAHAM: What’s happening in Texas this coming November might well be considered the ultimate Eyeball QSO: It’s the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station’s global face-to-face meeting. American team members will serve as hosts in Houston as the worldwide team gathers there on November 15 through November 18.
These meetings are open for the public to observe and there is no registration fee — although it’s going to take some planning if you want to attend. The dates this year were selected to coincide with the 20th anniversary of ARISS which had its first meeting — not surprisingly — at the same NASA Johnson Space Center where this gathering will occur. In fact, a tour of the space center will be given to meeting attendees on the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 14.
The agenda is an ambitious one and will obviously look forward to the program’s next 20 years – and beyond.
For Amateur Radio Newsline, I’m Graham Kemp, VK4BB.
This is an event I might like to attend. Anyone know about low cost motels near the event? I will not have a car. So I would have to walk, use a bus or Uber.
I tracked, via radio, Sputnik 1, when it was launched in October of 1957. I traced other satellites after that. I did a weekly DX radio program that was broadcast around the world later. Elmo Melton, I forget his ham call sign, let me play one cut from his 45 rpm “Sounds of Space” on the DX program each week. I did a monthly Space blog for years. It was about satellites with tracking information and their transmit QRG etc.
About: I got my first computer in 1978. I set up a computer bulletin board system (BBS) in 1982. You had to dial in at 300 baud. A national magazine picked my BBS as one of the ten best sites. I was blogging before the word blog had been invented. People think the first blog was invented in 1995. They are wrong I was doing it in 1982.
When the rest of the world got around to inventing the world wide web I moved my BBS to the web. Yes, I been online for over 32 years.
You have found one of the very first online sites!
I was doing this before Google (1998), before YouTube (2005), Yahoo (1994) and all the rest of them.
You have found one of the fathers of all this that we all enjoy so much.
Welcome and enjoy and hang out with Jim Howard. He has been waiting for you.
One of the first online sites, one of the first blogs and one of the first webcam sites.
